Gym Update: Climbing, Freerunning, Parties!
This past week at the gym we focused on climbing, which is a very important aspect of parkour. We worked
on climb ups from cat hangs, climb downs to cat hangs, and climbing on top of a bar from a hanging position. Climbing is one of those movements that requires almost all of the muscle groups! The most obvious muscles being used are your arms and your legs, but most do not realize how important it is to use your core when doing moves such as climb ups and climb downs. All around, great improvement was made throughout the week!
This week at the gym our focus will be on adding flow to your movement!
We are scheduled to have a freerunning camp next week (August 1- August 5) but we have not had anyone sign up yet! The camp will run from 9:30 am to 12 pm and will focus on the use of flips and aerial movement in parkour training! The cost is $179, and is limited to ages 12+. If you are interesting in attending the camp, please sign up here. If we do not have anyone signed up by this Friday, we unfortunately will have to cancel the camp.
Don’t forget, if you’re looking for somewhere to have a great birthday party, Horizons is the place! Our birthday parties are partially instructed and partially open gym time for fun and self-directed play. $125 for up to 10 for 90 minutes. 60 minutes of training and 30 minutes for cake and presents, etc. $10 for each kid up to 20. $50 for each additional half hour of training. $60 for cake, decorations, and birthday kid t-shirt.
